A Bit About Me

My name is Shauna Moreno I hold a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Prior to graduate school, I earned my undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Upon graduation, I entered the field of Human Resources and spent 10 years in Corporate America supporting the growth and development of employees as they moved through their careers. I really enjoyed my experience in the corporate setting, but desired to support people on a deeper, more meaningful level.

Areas of Special Interest & Training

My work is grounded in psychodynamic theory, exploring early life experiences, attachment styles, and defensive mechanisms to help clients notice how past experiences often influence present behavior. This approach allows us to understand why we do the things we do and provides opportunities for us to make intentional decisions that improve our relationships and lead to healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I primarily work with adults, individuals, and couples who are experiencing relationship issues, communication challenges, work life stressors, and those struggling with difficult life transitions. It is important to me that you feel heard, validated, and safe in the therapy space whether we meet in person or through telehealth. Making the decision to improve your well-being is a wonderful step and I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
