I used to own a women's clothing boutique.

A Bit About Me

My name is Nicole Standaert, and I obtained my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Upper Iowa University. I was a parent educator with the Parents as Teachers program upon graduation. I worked closely with families, providing them with increased parent knowledge of early childhood development and improving positive parenting practices. Outside of therapy, I am happiest when I am being creative, spending time with my family, being active, and spending time in nature. I love hiking, pickleball, kayaking, cross-stitching, cuddling my dog, and reading a book on my hammock.

I use mindful practices to focus on my client's physical, emotional, and social well-being. I take a holistic approach to working with my clients as a deeper understanding of the whole self will lead to greater self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-acceptance.

The therapeutic process I provide is a collaboration between the client and myself, and I use a client-centered approach. It is essential that clients feel heard and in control of their destination while being provided with a safe, non-judgmental environment to share their stories.
