Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group
What is a DBT Group?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group is a weekly skills training group that helps individuals better understand their emotions and teaches skills and techniques that empower individuals to better regulate intense emotions.
Participants will attend 3 Modules, each lasting 8 weeks (24 sessions in total), and can expect to gain practice in topics such as: Present Moment Awareness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation & Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Participants are expected to regularly attend group, to practice the skills learned in group between sessions, and to share about their experiences in group. The group is co-ed and is limited to 10 participants. After week 2 of Module One, no new participants can join until the 24-week cycle is complete.
Who Would Benefit From DBT Group?
DBT is a helpful therapy for people managing a personality disorder, suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and disordered eating. All participants will be evaluated for therapeutic goodness of fit for group prior to the first session.
Where Will DBT Group Meet?
DBT group will meet in the conference room at 2805 Eastern Avenue, Davenport Iowa 52803.
When will DBT Group Meet?
DBT Group will meet on Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 PM beginning December 5, 2024.
Please check your calendar and ensure you can meet the following dates:
Module One: 12/5/24 - 1/23/25 (with 12/26/24 off for holidays)
Module Two: 1/30/25-3/20/25
Module Three: 3/27/25-5/15/25
What is the Cost of DBT Group?
Quad City Psychotherapy is in network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plans. If you have BCBS insurance, DBT group will be a covered service as long as you meet criteria to participate in group during your initial evaluation. If you do not have BCBS, you can ask your insurance about out-of-network benefits to help cover the cost of group. If you do not have BCBS, you would be considered private pay and would pay directly for group and then seek reimbursement from your insurance directly.
The private pay rate for group is $40 per session.

If you meet criteria for group, meaning you have a diagnosis of depression, anxiety, or other conditions that are shown to benefit from DBT, then we will enroll you in group.
