Quad City Psychotherapy, PLLC is excited to welcome Madeline "Maddy" Burnham to our team of clinicians.
Maddy earned her Bachelor's Degree from University of California Los Angeles and her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Iowa. Maddy recently relocated back to the Quad Cities after working in private practice for two years.
Maddy enjoys supporting clients in accessing their own inner-strength and connection to self-worth. Maddy works with adolescents and adults and specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, body image, and sports performance stress.
Maddy's experience as a collegiate athlete, swimming at UCLA while earning her Bachelor's Degree, helps her understand the unique needs of high school and college athletes navigating mental health challenges and athletic identity.
Maddy says the following of how she practices:
"I value building a nonjudgmental space to support clients as they transorom their struggles in a source of growth. I believe immensely in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and I have an easy-going, compassionate spirit that allows clients to feel comfortable and safe."
Maddy utilitzes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Strengths-based Approaches, as well as skills from Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
